University Choirs are open to all students at UA, regardless of major. For University Chorus, Women’s Chorus, and Chamber Choir… just register for the class! It’s that easy! These choirs welcome new members at the beginning of every semester. University Singers is open to all students by audition only. Auditions are held during exam week in May for the following school year, and sometimes in August and December if space is available.

What course number do I choose?
Each university choir has a 100 (freshman), 200 (sophomore), 300 (junior), 400 (senior), and 500 (graduate) course number. Register for the level that corresponds to your year in school. You can repeat the same-level course in fall and spring semesters or as needed.
How many credits is a choir class?
For all university choirs, you can choose to register for either section 001 for 0 credit or section 002 for 1 credit. Consult your advisor if you are not sure which option is best for you and your degree program.
Can I join more than one choir?
Yes! You can join as many choirs as you wish. Some possible combinations include: University Chorus AND Women’s Chorus; or University Chorus AND Chamber Choir.
Can I sing in a university choir if I have never been in a choir before?
Yes, we would love for you to join us! Singing in a choir is an activity you can enjoy throughout your entire life, and it is never too late to start.
